Vics win toss, bowl v Tas in Shield

Victorian captain Cameron White has won the toss and sent Tasmania in to bat in the Sheffield Shield match at Bellerive.

The first-placed Bushrangers’ pace attack will have first use of a green-looking pitch in mild conditions in Hobart.

William Sheridan will carry the drinks for the visitors, while Tasmania have named young spinner Harry Allanby as 12th man.

The match could be former Test skipper Ricky Ponting’s last Shield appearance if the Tigers fail to sneak their way into next week’s final, although the 38-year-old is yet to announce whether he will play on next domestic season.
