Vics bowled out for 437 against SA

Handy lower order knocks from Jayde Herrick and Will Sheridan lifted Victoria’s first innings total to 437 against South Australia in their Sheffield Shield match.

Herrick, batting at number nine, hit an unbeaten 62 and Sheridan made 49 before the Bushrangers were bowled out 30 minutes before lunch on Friday’s second day at Adelaide Oval.

Redbacks pacemen Peter George (3-85) and Jake Haberfield (3-117) were the most successful bowlers.

The final four Victorian wickets contributed 151 runs, with Herrick and number eight Sheridan chief contributors.

The pair put on a 62-run eighth wicket partnership, while Herrick and last man in Scot Boland (14) added another 41.

Sheridan was first out on Friday, launching into a drive from the bowling of Joe Mennie (2-79) but edging to wicketkeeper Adam Crosthwaite.

Jon Holland (seven) fell in similar fashion, aiming a drive to a Haberfield delivery and edging to Crosthwaite.

Boland later holed out to mid-on to give SA’s debutant Cameron Williams his initial first-class wicket – but the 20-year-old legspinner’s 13.4 overs cost 92 runs.
