Taylor moves to fourth IPL team

New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor will play for the Pune Warriors in the Indian Premier League after being traded from the Delhi Daredevils.

The Daredevils swapped former Black Caps skipper Taylor for former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra during the competition’s trading window.

It will be Taylor’s fourth different franchise in the lucrative Twenty20 competition, having played for Royal Challengers Bangalore for the first three IPL seasons before moving to Rajasthan Royals in 2011.

Taylor largely struggled in 12 games for semi-finalists the Daredevils last year, averaging 19.7.

A statement from the Warriors said Taylor will added “muscle” and “panache” to the franchise, which spent $US2.5 million ($A2.4 million) on players during the recent player auction.

The IPL begins on April 3 and runs for eight weeks.
