Tasmania all out for 149 against Qld

Tasmania have crumbled to a powerful Queensland bowling attack to be all out for 149 on day one of their Sheffield Shield clash at Bellerive Oval.

Visiting skipper James Hopes (4-24) led the charge for the Bulls on Monday while Ben Dunk (71) played a lone hand for Tasmania.

Tasmania’s usually dependable Ed Cowan (0) was his first victim, nicking an edge that carried to first slip after three overs.

Six overs later Hopes struck again with Tigers captain Alex Doolan also dismissed without score, caught behind.

Opener Jordan Silk (39) looked steady with a knock that included five boundaries, and found support from youngster Beau Webster (21), the pair joining for a partnership of 46.

But it wasn’t to last as the Bulls brought spinner Cameron Boyce (2-7) into the attack to claim the wicket of Webster, stumped.

Silk was bowled just before lunch by Peter George (1-37) sending the hosts to the break at 4-73.

Hopes then trapped Tim Paine (10) lbw and next ball dismissed replacement batsman Luke Butterworth (0).

Making his first-class debut for Queensland, Mark Steketee (3-56) made an impact, finding himself on a hat-trick after accounting for Sam Rainbird (3) and Jackson Bird (0).

Dunk tonked four sixes and four boundaries but was stumped attempting another big hit from Boyce.
