South Australia have fought back and dismissed Tasmania for 138 in their first innings on day two of the low-scoring Sheffield Shield match at Bellerive.
The Tigers lost 7-75 on Friday but have a slender 26-run lead after they bowled the Redbacks out for 112 on Thursday.
South Australian paceman Chadd Sayers finished with 4-29 and Australian allrounder Dan Christian 3-31 on a Bellerive deck still favouring the seamers.
Tasmania had resumed at 3-63 and were 8-135 at lunch before Sayers and Christian mopped up the tail soon after the break.
Tigers recruit Ben Dunk has top scored for the match so far with 45 in the keeper/batsman’s first Shield outing for his new state.
Test spinner Nathan Lyon didn’t bowl a ball in the Tasmanian innings with the green-tinged pitch and cool conditions so far giving the pacemen on both sides a field day.
The Tigers have lost former Test skipper Ricky Ponting for the remainder of the match with hamstring soreness.
He has been replaced by Steve Cazzulino.
