Tasmania have been set a target of 212 to win the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia at Bellerive.
The Tigers’ pace attack has taken little time to mop up the Redbacks’ tail on the morning of day three after the visitors had resumed at 7-225.
South Australia were dismissed for 237 in their second innings, Nathan Lyon remaining three not out.
Making good use of the new ball, Test quick Ben Hilfenhaus (2-83) had Chadd Sayers caught behind for 12 to make it 8-233.
Luke Butterworth (3-40) had skipper Johan Botha (19) inside edging to keeper Ben Dunk two runs later before clean bowling Daniel Worrall for a duck.
Batting conditions are the best they have been on any day of the match, but the Tigers’ attack showed their batsmen will have to negotiate a new ball that is likely to zip around.
South Australia made 112 in their first innings and Tasmania 138.
The Redbacks have not won a Shield match outright in 19 attempts – the last in November 2010 at Bellerive.
