Sutherland pays tribute to Michael Clarke

Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland has paid tribute to the career of retiring Australian captain Michael Clarke.

Sutherland stated that losing the Ashes was not a fitting reward for what Clarke gave to Australian cricket, but said he would be remembered as one of the nation’s best.

“He will be remembered for his courage and the way he played the game,” Sutherland said.

“I don’t think I can think of an Australian cricketer that has worked harder, day after day, week after week.

“He finished on his terms and this (retirement) is a small moment in a great career.”
