Styris signs on for Sussex

Former Black Caps allrounder Scott Styris will play Twenty20 cricket for English county side Sussex this season.

The 36-year-old, who featured in 188 one-day internationals and 31 T20 matches for New Zealand, retired from international cricket in June last year.

Styris, who played for Essex for the last two seasons, played for Northern Districts in the domestic T20 competition.

“Sussex has been a powerhouse in one-day cricket in recent years and I look forward to contributing to the team,” Styris told the county’s website.

Styris, who has also played for Durham and Middlesex, will join Sussex, beaten quarter-finalists last season, for the competition in June and July.
