Sri Lanka 3-82 vs England

England seam bowler James Anderson rattled Sri Lanka’s top-order with three wickets to give the tourists a promising start to the second Test against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka reached 3-82 at lunch on the opening day after winning the toss and opting to bat first.

Captain Mahela Jayawardene was batting on 40 with Thilan Samaraweera on 20, sharing an unbroken 52-run stand for the fourth wicket.

Anderson used the early moisture at the P.Sara Oval pitch to good effect to dismiss openers Tillakaratne Dilshan (14), Lahiru Thirimanne (8) and Kumar Sangakkara for a first ball duck for the second time in three innings.

Anderson had figures of 3-29.
