Speedster Ferling back for Women’s Ashes

Fast bowler Holly Ferling returns while three players could make Test debuts when Australia attempts to reclaim the Women’s Ashes trophy in England starting in July.

Ferling missed last year’s series against Pakistan and the West Indies with a back injury but comes back to spearhead a formidable pace attack with Ellyse Perry.

Batter Nicole Bolton, leg-spinner Kristen Beams and all-rounder Jess Jonassen all have the chance to earn first Test starts after being included in the 15-woman Australian squad named on Monday for the one Test, three one-day internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals which comprise the Women’s Ashes series.

Australian squad: Meg Lanning (capt), Alex Blackwell (v-capt), Kristen Beams, Nicole Bolton (Test and ODI squads only), Jess Cameron, Sarah Coyte, Rene Farrell, Holly Ferling, Alyssa Healy, Jess Jonassen, Delissa Kimmince (T20 International squad only), Erin Osborne, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Elyse Villani.
