South Africa bowled out for 238 v NZ

South Africa were bowled out for 238 in their first innings on the second day of the first Test against New Zealand at University Oval on Thursday.

After resuming at seven for 191, the Proteas added 47 to their overnight total as New Zealand wrapped up the lower order in the first 45 minutes of play.

Hashim Amla topscored with 62 for the Proteas and skipper Graeme Smith and Jacques Rudolph also posted half centuries, while Chris Martin was the best of the bowlers, taking four for 56.
