Qld all out for 222

NSW are in complete control after bowling out Queensland for 222 and taking a 164 run first innings lead in their Sheffield Shield clash in Brisbane on Friday.

The Bulls could add only six more runs to their overnight score before Alister McDermott (two) was caught behind off Sean Abbott (2-45) in the second over of day three.

Queensland had limped to 9-216 overnight in reply to NSW’s 386 first dig.

Test off-spinner Nathan Lyon ended up with 2-15 off nine overs after helping the Blues take control with the ball along with former Australian seamer Trent Copeland (5-49).

Test opener David Warner – who struck a quick-fire 52 in the first dig – gets another chance to warm up ahead of next week’s first Ashes Test on the small, batsman-friendly Allan Border Field in NSW’s second innings.
