Ponting dropped from one-day squad

Ex-skipper Ricky Ponting has been dropped from Australia’s one-day side after a poor run of form in the first five matches of the tri-series. The veteran, who has been acting captain in Michael Clarke’s absence, has scored 18 runs at an average of 3.6 in the tri-series against India and Sri Lanka. Clarke returns to the squad of 13 following a minor hamstring strain while star allrounder Shane Watson has been included for the first time this season after overcoming hamstring and calf complaints which kept him out of the entire home Test season against New Zealand and India.
