Pomersbach back for Bulls in Shield

Queensland have recalled for former Twenty20 international batsman Luke Pomersbach for next week’s crunch Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria at the MCG.

Pomersbach has overcome a back complaint but must still complete a Brisbane premier grade fixture on the Gold Coast on Saturday before officially receiving the green light from the Bulls.

The big-hitting Pomersbach will aim to be on the team flight to Melbourne on Monday morning.

Queensland are among four teams vying for the Shield final after downing Western Australia by 250 runs at the Gabba on Thursday.

However, the Bulls must beat cellar dwellers Victoria this week and have other results go their way if they are to reach the decider.

Queensland are fourth on the Shield ladder with 22 points behind WA, South Australia and NSW (all 26pts).

Bulls squad: James Hopes (capt), Cameron Boyce, Joe Burns, Luke Feldman, Peter Forrest, Cameron Gannon, Chris Hartley, Usman Khawaja, Chris Lynn, Alister McDermott, Michael Neser, Luke Pomersbach (12th man to be named).
