Pietersen out in tour game

The covers are back on at Bellerive Oval and still no play has been possible on day four of England’s tour match against Australia A.

The rain had finally cleared in Hobart and play was scheduled for a 10.15am AEDT start on Saturday.

However, another downpour began and there’s no sign of play resuming.

Openers Alastair Cook (154 not out) and Michael Carberry (153no) have retired, but England will bat on if they do get back out on the field, with Jonathan Trott and Kevin Pietersen set to come to the crease.

England will resume on 318, after days two and three were abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.
