Australian star Ellyse Perry has aggravated an ankle injury and won’t play in Sunday’s women’s World Cup super six match against Sri Lanka.
However, Cricket Australia physiotherapist Claire Stokes said Perry was expected to be fit for the business end of the tournament.
Australia are so far undefeated in the ICC tournament.
Perry is a fast bowling star who also represents Australia in soccer.
“Perry has suffered an exacerbation of a pre-existing ankle impingement injury. At this stage we expect her to be fit for the next match against the West Indies,” said Stokes.
