Pakistan elect to bat against England

Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and elected to bat in the third and final Test against England on Friday.

Pakistan brought back fast bowler Aizaz Cheema in place of Junaid Khan while England surprisingly kept faith in the same batting line-up that was bowled out for 72 at Abu Dhabi last week.

Pakistan has an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after winning the first two Tests by 10 wickets and 72 runs respectively.

Top-ranked England needs to win the last Test to ensure they pocket the $US175,000 ($A164,000) ICC prizemoney awarded to the No.1 team at the April 1 cut-off date every year.

Pakistan: Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Mohammad Hafeez, Taufeeq Umar, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan, Asad Shafiq, Adnan Akmal, Abdur Rehman, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Aizaz Cheema.

England: Andrew Strauss (captain), Alastair Cook, Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Eoin Morgan, Matt Prior, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, James Anderson, Monty Panesar.
