There’s no sign of play on day two of the tour match between England and Australia A at Hobart.
Rain has fallen all day, and is forecast to continue throughout the afternoon and potentially for the rest of the match.
England finished day one at 0-318, with Alastair Cook 154 not out and Michael Carberry unbeaten on 153.
The adverse weather is a blow to England’s Ashes preparations, with star batsmen Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen and Joe Root eager for a hit.
Should the poor conditions continue, the weather could also impact on the hopes of Alex Doolan and Shaun Marsh from the Australia A side.
Both batsmen are in contention for the first Test in Brisbane and big runs at Bellerive against England could have provided a major boost to their chances.
