Australia all-rounder Mitch Marsh will mark his return from injury with a grade cricket cameo in Sydney on Saturday.
Perth-born Marsh will play at Pratten Park for Western Suburbs, who won a ballot involving 17 of the competition’s 20 clubs for his services.
Western Suburbs is the home of injured Australia skipper Michael Clarke and in-form fast bowler Mitchell Starc.
Cricket Australia had requested Marsh play grade cricket as a specialist batsman in Sydney this weekend as part of his recovery from a hamstring injury.
The rest of the Australia one-day side will also be in the harbour city, preparing for Monday’s tri-series clash with India at the SCG.
The 23-year-old is hoping to play that match, in a bid to be fit for their World Cup opener against England on February 14.
