Llong joins cricket’s elite umpire panel

Englishman Nigel Llong has replaced West Indian Billy Doctrove on the International Cricket Council’s elite panel of umpires.

Doctrove retired last week from the panel.

Llong, 43, was also named among 13 umpires to officiate at the World Twenty20 tournament in Sri Lanka in September.

The Englishman has umpired 12 Test matches, 55 one-day internationals and 16 Twenty20s after making his international debut in the second T20 played between England and Australia at Southampton in 2005.
