India win toss and choose to bowl in T20

India have won the toss and chosen to bowl first in the first Twenty20 against Australia at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

Rain is falling at the venue and a possible delay to the scheduled 7.35pm AEDT start is likely.

Over 60,000 tickets had been pre-sold for the fixture though the bad weather may mean a much lower final attendance on the night.

Australia captain George Bailey is making his international cricket debut in the match, while James Faulkner and Xavier Doherty will also make their international Twenty20 debuts.

India have a debutant of their own, with leg-spinner Rahul Sharma chosen for the tourists, who will be desperate for a victory after losing the Test series 4-0.

Teams:

Australia: David Warner, Matthew Wade, Travis Birt, David Hussey, George Bailey (capt), Mitchell Marsh, Dan Christian, James Faulkner, Brad Hogg, Brett Lee, Xavier Doherty (12th man: Aaron Finch).

India: Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (capt), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rahul Sharma, Vinay Kumar, Praveen Kumar (12th man: Saurabh Tiwary).
