The “Turbanator” — India’s fiery offspinner Harbhajan Singh — has been recalled for Friday’s first Test against Australia in Chennai.

The man who played a leading role in the 2008 Monkeygate scandal in Sydney will play his 100th Test and has predicted a 4-0 sweep for the home side.

India, who shunned the media on Wednesday, had scheduled a captain’s pre-match press conference with MS Dhoni on Thursday.

However this was changed and Harbhajan was sent out instead to face the media.

“I have gone through times when I was not doing well or when I was doing well and got too excited,” said Harbhajan, who has played only one Test in the past 12 months but boasts a magnificent record against Australia of 90 wickets in 16 matches.

“(I’ll be) a bit nervous to start with, but I will be fine.

“Once I get away with 100, we will see what needs to be done to play another 50-odd (matches),” the 32-year-old added confidently.

While India didn’t name a side on Thursday, it’s expected Harbhajan will form a four-pronged spin attack with Ravi Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha and allrounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Harbhajan says he can’t wait to take on his favourite opposing side again.

Australia opener David Warner says there will be plenty of chat out on the field.

“I know you’re going to get a little bit of banter from certain people but you’re going to have to learn to cop that and that’s how it is,” Warner said.

“We dish it out at home. We’ve got to be prepared to take it.

“Come game one, you’ve got your normal culprits as usual. We all know who they are.

“They’ll come out and start firing but you know what — it will only last probably half an hour if you get on top of them.”

Harbhajan was suspended for racially abusing Australia’s Andrew Symonds during the Sydney Test of 2008 although the three-match ban was reduced to a fine for abuse on appeal.
