English Twenty20 superstar Alex Hales has signed with the Hobart Hurricanes for this summer’s Big Bash League.
Hales joins the 2014 finalists after playing with the Adelaide Strikers last season and an earlier stint with the Melbourne Renegades.
At the World Cup earlier this year the 25-year-old became the first Englishman to score a T20 international century, cracking 116 from 64 balls against Sri Lanka.
He averages 38 at a strike rate of 138 from his 32 T20Is.
“I am excited to be playing for one of the strongest teams in the Big Bash League” Hales said in a Hurricanes statement.
“Hopefully I can contribute to the team going all the way this year after making the final last season”.
The Hurricanes have signed nine players for season four of the BBL and are chasing another international signing.
