Former Australian Test batsman Brad Hodge has no concerns nominating for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League despite continued issues over the non-payment of players.
Hodge and fellow Australia internationals Brad Hogg and Shane Harwood were among those initially affected by appearance fees not being paid.
The issue remains ongoing with the Federation of International Cricketer’s Associations issuing a statement on Thursday urging players not to nominate for draft for the second season of the BPL which will take place in December, due to unpaid player payments from the first BPL held in February.
Hodge, Hogg and Harwood have all now received monies owed.
Gerard Sholly, who manages both Hodge and Harwood said Hodge would have no problem playing in the second edition of the BPL in January, as long as it didn’t clash with Australia’s domestic T20 tournament The Big Bash.
Sholly said Harwood was no longer playing internationally.
“The schedule for the BPL has not been finalised as yet and provided it does not clash with The Big Bash certainly Brad Hodge would have no issue being a part of it.
Hogg’s manager Cheryl Bresland declined to comment on whether the Australia T20 international would nominate for the second edition of the BPL, except to say that the chasing payment from the Sylhet Royals involved a “lengthy process”.
