Hilfenhaus replaces Lee in one-day squad

In-form Test swing bowler Ben Hilfenhaus will join the Australian one-day squad to replace injured paceman Brett Lee.

Hilfenhaus will join the squad for Friday’s match against Sri Lanka in Perth.

Lee will be out of action for four to six weeks after suffering a broken toe in Friday night’s Twenty20 loss to India at the MCG.

“The bowling attack for Perth is likely to be the same as the one that did so well in Melbourne and Ben will be in Perth to provide cover,” chairman of selectors John Inverarity said in a statement.

Hilfenhaus starred in Australia’s 4-0 Test series domination of India.

He was the leading wicket-taker in the series, with 27 scalps at an average of 17.22

Australia opened the one-day series against India and Sri Lanka with a 65-run win over the Indians in Sunday’s rain-affected match at the MCG.
