Hamstrung Mitch Marsh limps off Gabba

Mitchell Marsh has limped off the Gabba with a hamstring complaint, pulling up sore after bowling his sixth over in the second Test.

Marsh sent down the second over after lunch on day one, but looked in much discomfort when he released the sixth ball.

The allrounder left the field shortly after, with Mitchell Johnson replacing him at the Vulture Street end.

Cricket Australia confirmed Marsh’s “right hamstring soreness” was being assessed by medical staff.

“I hope he’s ok and it’s nothing too serious,” Shane Warne said, while calling the game for the Nine Network.

“But the way he grimaced, he’s in a bit of trouble.

“He knew straight away something has gone … he went to grab at something.”
