Kevin Pietersen has been added to England’s cricket squad for the tour of India in November after resolving his issues with management and teammates following a drawn-out, phone-message row.
The flamboyant batsman has been out of favour with England since being dropped for exchanging provocative texts with South Africa players about then-Test captain Andrew Strauss in August.
officials said Pietersen needed to undertake a program of reintegration before being considered for selection again. He held discussions with team management and senior players this week.
Hugh Morris, managing director of the England and Wales Cricket Board, said on Thursday that “the meetings were constructive and cordial and all outstanding issues have been resolved.”
Pietersen will join up with the England squad once his Champions League commitments are finished.
