England will start tonight’s second Test at Lords an odds-on favourite with punters expecting the Poms to win again on their way to a 5-nil series whitewash.
England has been a solid $1.92 favourite throughout betting with Australia at $3.80.
Former England Captain and Centrebet Ashes expert Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff says the punters are right and England will make it two-nil at Lords despite almost losing the First Test.
“I think that is as close as Australia will come to winning anything this series. I think Australia missed its chance, England can’t play that bad again the gap between the two sides is too big,” Flintoff told Centrebet.
A 5-nil clean sweep of the Ashes series by England has firmed from $11 into $7.50 and Flintoff says rain is the only hope Australia has of avoiding a whitewash.
“I just can’t see them winning a Test now. Something drastic would have to happen, they will have to play Glenn McGrath or get Shane Warne out of the commentary box other than that I just can’t see it,” Flintoff said.
