Cricket star Warner in alleged incident

Cricket Australia have confirmed they’re aware of an alleged late-night incident involving batsman David Warner and say they’re investigating.

Rumours emerged from the Champions Trophy on Tuesday that an Australian player had been involved in a discipline breach following the team’s opening game loss to England.

It’s understood New Zealand players were hearing word that an Australian player had been sent home on the eve of their second Pool A clash at Edgbaston on Wednesday.

National selector John Inverarity was asked by AAP about the incident on Tuesday evening and said he was not aware of any incident where a player had been sent home due to a discipline breach.

Warner was still at the team hotel on Tuesday evening.

Reports suggest Cricket Australia will consider sending him home.

Warner has been no stranger to controversy in recent times and was recently involved in a twitter squabble with two Australian journalists and subsequently fined.
