Ben Laughlin cited for excessive appealing

Tasmania’s Ben Laughlin has been reprimanded for excessive appealing in Sunday’s opening domestic one-day cricket match of the season against NSW.

The medium pacer on Monday pleaded guilty to breaching Cricket Australia’s Code of Behaviour during the Bankstown Oval clash, won by the Blues.

Laughlin accepted an official reprimand proposed by match referee Bob Stratford and will not have to face a CA hearing.

It was Laughlin’s first offence in the past 18 months.

Laughlin smashed through the bottom half of the Blues’ order, claiming three for 23 off 10 overs.

But that did little to stop NSW from dismissing the Tigers for 97 in 35 overs, handing them an 81 run win with a bonus point.
