Australia to bowl first v Scotland in WC

Australia have won the toss and will bowl first against Scotland in their Cricket World Cup clash in Hobart.

Skipper Michael Clarke didn’t hesitate sending the visitors in to bat, on an overcast Saturday at Bellerive Oval.

“I think there is some rain forecast so that’s my main reason for bowling,” Clarke said.

The only change to Australia’s line-up from the XI, which notched up a 64-run victory over Sri Lanka on Sunday, is the inclusion of paceman Pat Cummins at the expense of spinner Xavier Doherty.

Steve Smith continues at No.3 in Australia’s batting order, with Clarke at No.4, Glenn Maxwell at No.5 and Shane Watson at No.6.

Winless Scotland’s World Cup campaign ends with this match and captain Preston Mommsen says it’s a privilege to end the tournament playing against a powerhouse side.

Australia: Aaron Finch, David Warner, Steve Smith, Michael Clarke (capt), Glenn Maxwell, Shane Watson, Brad Haddin, James Faulkner, Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins

Scotland: Calum MacLeod, Kyle Coetzer, Matt Machan, Preston Mommsen (capt), Freddie Coleman, Richie Berrington, Matt Cross, Josh Davey, Rob Taylor, Michael Leask, Iain Wardlaw
