Australia to bat first at Hyderabad

Australia have won the toss and will bat first in Saturday’s second Test against India in Hyderabad.

Left-arm spinner Xavier Doherty has been recalled for his first Test since 2010 while offspinning allrounder Glenn Maxwell will make his debut.

Offspinner Nathan Lyon has been dropped after conceding 3-215 in India’s first innings in the Chennai Test while left-arm quick Mitchell Starc also makes way after a wicket-less performance in the first Test.

Australia wicketkeeper Matthew Wade fractured his cheekbone in a training accident on Friday but has been named to play.

India, who lead the four-match series one-nil, have named an unchanged side with three frontline spinners.

Teams:

Australia: Michael Clarke (capt), Ed Cowan, David Warner, Phil Hughes, Shane Watson, Matthew Wade, Moises Henriques, Glenn Maxwell, Peter Siddle, James Pattinson, Xavier Doherty.

India XI: MS Dhoni (capt), Murali Vijay, Virender Sehwag, Cheteshwar Pujara, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravi Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma.
