Australia bowl India out for 272

Offspinner Nathan Lyon claimed career-best figures of 7-94 as Australia bowled India out for 272 in their first innings early on day three of the fourth Test in Delhi.

India lead by 10 runs on the first innings on a turning pitch that is sure to provide a challenge to Australia’s batsmen later on Sunday’s third day of play.

The home side lead the four-match series three-nil.

India had resumed on 8-266 and lasted only 13 deliveries as Lyon dismissed Ishant Sharma and Pragyan Ojha for ducks in successive balls.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was 14 not out.

Lyon, who was dropped for the second Test, is Australia’s leading wicket-taker in the series with 13 victims at 37.61.

The 25-year-old’s 7-94 came off 23.2 overs.

James Pattinson, Peter Siddle and Glenn Maxwell took one wicket each.

Maxwell has been promoted up the order and will open the batting with David Warner.
