Aust A beat India A by 10 wickets

Australia A recorded a comprehensive 10-wicket win over India A on Saturday in Chennai in their second four-day match.

Chasing 61 runs to win, captain Usman Khawaja and Cameron Bancroft wasted no time and powered to victory in 6.1 overs.

Khawaja finished 41 not out from 23 balls, while Bancroft (21no from 14 balls) hit the winning runs with a six straight down the ground.

Earlier, India A resumed day four on 6-267 but Gurinder Sandhu started the first over with off-spin and struck immediately.

Shreyas Gopal departed for a duck to a sharp catch from Bancroft close in, which triggered a collapse in the tail.

India A lost 4-7, with Sandhu picking up another two wickets to bring his match figures to 7-101.

Steve O’Keefe also picked up Shardul Thakur for four to dismiss India A for 274. O’Keefe finished with innings figures of 4-88.

The first four-day match between the two A sides ended in a draw.

Australia A will head into a one-day tri-series with India A and South Africa A in Chennai, starting on Wednesday.
