Aussies make two changes for 4th ODI

Australia have made two changes for their fourth one-day international against the West Indies with Peter Forrest and Ben Hilfenhaus returning to the team.

The pair come into the side in place of spin bowler Nathan Lyon and allrounder Dan Christian for Friday’s crucial match at the Beausejour Stadium with the five-game series level at 1-1 following Tuesday’s tie in St Vincent.

Forrest missed Tuesday’s game to make way for Lyon on the slow spinning St Vincent pitch but the St Lucia wicket is expected to offer less for the spin bowlers, meaning the Queenslander returns to the batting line-up.

Hilfenhaus’s call-up for Christian will be the Tasmanian quick’s first start of the tour and further suggests Australia fancy pace to be the option to go with after having a good look at the Beausejour Stadium pitch during Thursday’s training session at the venue.

“The wicket, I just had a look at that,” opening batsman David Warner told reporters.

“It looks similar to the WACA with that nice shine and a bit of grass. It’s probably not going to come through as much as the WACA does though.

“A fantastic venue here and the outfield is outstanding as always.”

The West Indies haven’t announced their team but there will be at least one change with opener Adrian Barath replacing Kieran Powell for the game.

Friday’s match starts at 9.30am (0030 Saturday AEDT).

Australia: Shane Watson (capt), David Warner, Matthew Wade, Peter Forrest, David Hussey, Michael Hussey, George Bailey, Brett Lee, Ben Hilfenhaus, Clint McKay, Xavier Doherty.
