Australia have taken a 112-run lead into the second innings of their tour match against Worcestershire after dismissing the county side an hour before lunch on day three.
Ryan Harris (2-65) and James Faulkner (2-57) finished the job for the Australians, with Worcestershire bowled out for 284 in the 93rd over.
Ed Cowan and Chris Rogers will be sent in to open for Australia in the second innings, with Shane Watson’s 109 on day one enough to earn him a rest.
Cowan told Sky Sports Radio that he was shaping up well to bat at No.3 for the Test series starting next week at Trent Bridge.
The 31-year-old made 58 in the unfamiliar position in the first innings and will be looking to put his case beyond doubt and end the hopes of Usman Khawaja.
Rogers made 75 in the first innings but will be wanting to sharpen his blade before playing his first Test in five years.
Jackson Bird was the pick of the Australian bowlers, taking 4-48 from 25 overs, including nine maidens.
Spinner Ashton Agar also nabbed two.
