Aussies blessed by T20 options: Finch

Australia’s Twenty20 captain Aaron Finch says with all this power at his disposal, he’s uncertain what weapon to launch first.

Finch will lead Australian in the T20 series opener against South Africa on Wednesday night in Adelaide with a vast arsenal of options.

But Finch remains undecided on just how best to deploy his weapons.

“The depth that we have got in our squad is tremendous,” he said.

“You look down our list and anyone who can bat from one to eight is a powerful player – we have got so much ability to hit the ball out of the park in this format.

“And we have got some really good quicks and a good spinner.”

Australia’s squad contains five regular opening batsmen in the T20 format – Finch, Shane Watson, Cameron White, Nic Maddinson and Ben Dunk.

And he has five allrounders – James Faulkner, Watson, White, Ben Cutting and Sean Abbott.

The pace bowling attack features Kane Richardson, Doug Bollinger and Pat Cummins, who will play his first international in more than two years, with Cameron Boyce the spinner.

“There’s a lot of options,” Finch said.
