ADELAIDE STRIKERS (1-2) ($1.80) v SYDNEY THUNDER (2-1) ($2.00)

The Thunder put together the biggest score of BBL|08 on Friday night only to watch Matthew Wade and D’Arcy Short chase it down at Blundstone Arena. The Strikers are the complete opposite, losing 6 wickets against the Scorchers for just 8 runs in a putrid innings of just 88 on Boxing Day. The big news for the Strikers is the return of Peter Siddle who has been released by the Australian squad to play in this game, however Rashid Khan is likely to miss after the passing of his father.

Colin Ingram to score over 20.5 runs ($1.88)

The Strikers’ captain has made a slow start to BBL|08 but this very low over/under is a diamond in the rough for BBL punters. The South African averaged 30 in BBL|07 including a couple of 50’s and the Wolf thinks that with a couple of disappointing scores to start this season he will be motivated to build a patient innings.

This is one of the tougher games to pick so far this season, but I’m backing the Strikers to bounce back at home. Peter Siddle had the fifth best economy rate of any bowler in last year’s Big Bash, so his inclusion should mostly offset the loss of Rashid Khan. The Strikers top six were very good in their first two matches, so I’m willing to forgive their putrid performance against the Scorchers.

BEST BETS: Adelaide Strikers ($1.80), Colin Ingram to score over 20.5 runs ($1.88), Jos Buttler to hit a 6 ($1.70)
