It’s only fitting that this year’s ‘Eliminator’ game should pit two of BBL11’s most inconsistent teams against one another.

The ‘Canes come into this game off an embarrassing defeat to the Stars on Wednesday that saw Glenn Maxwell finish with an historic 154 run total off 64 balls.

Bowling and taking wickets has been a huge problem for Hobart right throughout the year, but the good news is you can also the same for the Strikers – a team that has given up the most runs in the competition.

The fact this game is being played on neutral turf only complicates matters, not to mention the fact both teams have split their previous two games one win apiece.

That said, there is one trend that I’m hanging my hat on here.

The ‘Canes have played to a strong 5-3 record on the back of a loss this season, and they can add to that record if the top of the order comes through.

Ben McDermott was the star of the show when the Hurricanes beat the Strikers last month, scoring a century off 60 balls.

If McDermott and Wade fire early and set a decent total, I think Hobart gets the job done.
