Yarran a chance for early Tigers debut

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick has confirmed star recruit Chris Yarran is in line for selection in the Tigers’ round one team to take on Carlton.

The attacking defender has struggled with a calf injury since arriving at Punt Road, with the club previously announcing he was not likely to play until after round six as he worked back to full fitness.

But Hardwick spoke to reporters on Tuesday and said Yarran had impressed in training during the past fortnight and was a chance to play in Thursday night’s NAB Challenge match against Port Adelaide, along with star veteran Brett Deledio who is slated to play a half after managing a calf injury during the pre-season.
