One look at the betting market here – Geelong $1.03 and Western Bulldogs $12.00 – with 57.5 point start, tells the story in nutshell!

The Bulldogs recorded a comprehensive victory over the Lions (whose only win since has been a 2 point victory of the Gold Coast Suns) in the opening round this year but since, have lost by margins of 28, 67 and last week against Adelaide, 52 points.

Now they meet Geelong who despite having met Hawthorn, Collingwood and Sydney in three of their past four matches, have yet to taste defeat this year.

Bulldogs fans will be watching this game with hands over their eyes as it could very well turn ugly.

Going on their last two loses and the opposition they met, reckon the Cats might just cover the line here.

Joke backfires for AFL Cats pair

A practical joke that backfired horribly resulted in police with drawn guns arresting AFL players Billie Smedts and Josh Caddy.

Police will take no further action against the Geelong players after Wednesday’s embarrassing incident and the club is also satisfied that the matter is closed.

Caddy and Smedts decided to play a prank on teammate Jackson Thurlow, who had moved into a new home.

But police were called when the pair were seen wearing balaclavas.

It appears Caddy and Smedts first knocked on the wrong door and were eventually let into the right address.

The Cats stress there was no attempted break-in.

“We can confirm police were called to a property in Yarra Street, South Geelong around 5pm on Wednesday to reports of two men wearing balaclavas attempting to break into a house,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“On police arrival, the pair had left the scene.

“Witnesses provided police with a description of the vehicle which police located and intercepted, with their firearms drawn, at the Kardinia Park Reserve.”

Caddy and Smedts then explained to police that they were trying to play a joke on Thurlow.

“Police have spoken to all parties involved in this incident and are satisfied the matter cannot be progressed further,” the statement read.

Caddy was quoted as saying they thought it would be “a bit of a laugh” to scare Thurlow.

“Me and Billie are both disappointed that we scared people in the community,” Caddy told the Geelong Advertiser.

“The club has dealt with it. The police have dealt with it. We are both sorry to that lady (witness).”
