If they are to play finals, Saturday night’s game for the Western Bulldogs against West Coast is their best and only opportunity to have a crack at it.
First, they’ll need to beat the Eagles by a big margin – which results this year have suggested that is perfectly capable of happening.
They’ll also need to rely on Collingwood losing both their last two games, have the Suns lose one and beating West Coast is a start to ensure the slow-starting Dogs can be a chance to sneak into the final six.
Given the Eagles are coming off a 74-point loss against Brisbane, with the only positive result from that game being the fact they didn’t allow the Lions to score over 100-points.
There’s no doubting it was a disappointing performance from the Dogs in their 25-point loss to Collingwood at Victoria Park, but with slim finals hopes still in play and a weaker opponent, they better make the most of it in Perth on Saturday night, and I think they will.
