Preview:
The Giants were at their ruthless best in a beat down of the Bombers last round, but face the a stern test against the reigning champs on their own patch. The Eagles raced out to a six goal to one lead against Brisbane last Saturday night before managing just one goal in a second half that included a scoreless third term. The Lions won all of the key stats and gave the Eagles plenty to ponder ahead of the unfurling of their premiership flag on Saturday night. Their round one tally of 58 points is their lowest in more than a season and they are sure to hit the scoreboard with more regularity this weekend. The teams have split their last six encounters, with the Giants winless at Optus Stadium, losing by 11 points in their only match at the venue last season against West Coast. There will be a lot of buzz around the sell out crowd in Perth for this one and The Wolf can’t see West Coast dropping two in a row to start the season. They can rack up a big score when they get in a mood and a round one drubbing might just fire them up.
