Wells ok despite knock: North Melbourne

Star North Melbourne midfielder Daniel Wells has suffered a shin injury, while playing in the VFL on Sunday in his comeback game following a foot problem.

Two-time club champion Wells, who hasn’t played an AFL match since April 19, was finally back on the paddock for feeder team North Ballarat against Geelong when the injury occurred, but North Melbourne are not too concerned.

The Kangaroos say Wells should be fine to play next weekend.

The 29-year-old veteran of 217 AFL games had nine touches in the first half as a forward/midfielder but didn’t complete Sunday’s match in Ballarat.

“No cause for alarm with Wells,” North Melbourne said on Twitter.

“Copped a knock to the shin, unrelated to the foot. Done for today but will be available next week.”
