Port Adelaide have put finals on their agenda after a perfect start to their AFL season.
The Power haven’t made the finals since 2007 but three consecutive wins have raised belief they can break that drought, according to defender Campbell Heath.
“We have got a really good group and the talent to do that this year,” Heath said on Monday.
“We will take it one week at a time but we really think we can be in the finals.
“We can match it with the top teams. We have got the list and the belief. But we have just got to take it week by week and continue to try to win games.”
Heath said Sunday’s comeback victory against Adelaide would help Port in their quest to regain the respect of the competition after spending five years near the bottom of the ladder.
The Power trailed by 31 points midway through the third quarter but won by nine points against the Crows, who were beaten preliminary finalists last season.
The win followed Port’s victories against battlers Melbourne and Greater Western Sydney in the opening two rounds.
“This week was all about us getting credibility back from the competition,” Heath said.
“We have beaten some struggling teams in the past couple of weeks and we really wanted to beat a top four team. Adelaide is a top four team and to beat it really gives us belief and great confidence.”
