Walker takes one-game AFL ban

Carlton defender Andrew Walker will miss the round-two AFL clash against Richmond after accepting his one-game suspension.

Sydney co-captain Jarrad McVeigh will take a reprimand, meaning the tribunal will not sit this week.

Walker was booked during Sunday night’s loss to Port Adelaide for rough conduct after he threw Port Adelaide forward Angus Monfries into the fence at Etihad Stadium.

Carlton will play the Tigers on Thursday week at the MCG to open the second round.

McVeigh accepted his reprimand and 45 demerit points for striking Greater Western Sydney’s Rhys Palmer in Saturday’s shock loss to the Giants.
