AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan is set to announce the premiership season has been postponed in response to new coronavirus measures put in place by federal and state governments.
It is understood McLachlan will announce a suspension of the season until the end of May at a hastily convened press conference at AFL House at 4.30pm.
