Midfielder Dom Tyson has become the eighth Greater Western Sydney player to be nominated for the Rising Star award in the Giants’ debut AFL season.

Tyson accumulated 26 disposals, seven clearances, five marks and a goal in Saturday’s 28-point home loss to North Melbourne.

The 19-year-old made his debut in the season-opener against Sydney and has played 10 senior games in 2012.

Tyson was picked up by the Giants with pick No.3 in the 2011 national draft.

He played for the Oakleigh Chargers in the elite Victorian under-18 competition.
