Treloar seeks trade away from Giants

Greater Western Sydney young gun Adam Treloar has rejected a new deal with the club and asked for a trade.

The 22-year-old midfielder has enjoyed an impressive year, averaging a club-high 27 disposals per game for the Giants, who finished the season in a club-best 11th place.

Giants general manager of football Graeme Allan said money played a large part in Treloar rejecting the club’s offer.

“The majority of our players have re-signed to keep this playing group together as they understand we are building something special and they want to be a part of it,” Allan said via a statement.

“We’ve had an attractive offer in front of Adam’s management all year but ultimately we have been unable to meet his financial requirements.

“We have no plans to deviate from the list management strategy that has proved so successful for the club to date.”

Treloar has previously been linked with a move to Collingwood.
