Sydney’s prized recruit Kurt Tippett is a late scratching from Friday night’s AFL clash with Hawthorn at ANZ Stadium due to hamstring tightness.
Tippett was substituted out of the Swans’ round-21 clash with St Kilda due to a tight hamstring and looked proppy at times in their last-start loss to Geelong.
Mitch Morton will take Tippett’s place in the side, starting as the substitute in his first AFL match since round 13.
Hawthorn also made a late change, promoting emergency Matt Spangher in place of ruckman Max Bailey (general soreness).
Jed Anderson is the Hawks’ sub for the year’s second grand-final rematch.
If the ladder-leading Hawks win on Friday night, the two sides will square off seven days later in a qualifying final at the MCG.
Shane Biggs will become the sixth Swan to make his debut this season, having been elevated off the rookie list in July.
